Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
Introduction
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest in Greece. The main campus is located in the centre of the city of Thessaloniki and covers an area of about 33.4 hectares. It comprises 10 faculties which consist of 40 schools and 1 single-school Faculty.
Some educational and administrative facilities are located off campus for practical and operational reasons. A number of these facilities are located outside the city of Thessaloniki or even in other cities.
Vision and Mission
Based on the mission of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as described by Greek Law (N. 4009/2011, article 4) the vision and mission of AUTh can be summarized as follows:
- Upgrading the educational process and the curricula (Accreditation) – Educational and teaching excellence
- Enhancing excellence in research
- Enhancing AUTh’s international presence
- Upgrading the organization and operation of Administrative Services
- Using, applying and making the most of current Information and Communication Technologies
- Upgrading the quality of student services
- Connecting the University with society and promoting AUTh as a landmark of development and culture
- Utilizing the University’s real property and intangible assets for the benefit of both AUTh and society at large
- Being an environmentally friendly University
- Being a friendly and accessible University towards all citizens, especially the ones with disabilities.

Admissions
Document Requirements
- An Application Form for AUTH’s Students’ Halls of Residence (FETH). This can be found or you can get one from the administration office of A’ FETH.
- An application filed by your supervising Professor, addressed to FETH, in which he/she consents about your admittance to FETH.
- A Document from the Secretariat of your School/Department, which verifies your participation in the corresponding EU program (Erasmus, Tempus, Comment, Socrates etc.).
- Photocopy of your passport.
- Photocopy of your residency permit.
- A Solemn Declaration (Law 1599/86) in which you’ll declare the following:
- In case your admission application is accepted, you’ll follow the Regulation Rules of FETH, the decisions of the boarding committee of INEDIVIM, and the statements of the corresponding committee of AUTH.
- Your financial obligations towards FETH will be fulfilled on time.
- You will stay at the Students’ Halls of Residence no more than you’re allowed to.
- This document can be found and you can get one from the administration office of A’ FETH.
- A recent photo of the applicant.
