Introduction
The Master of Arts in International Studies (MAIS) is a two-year programme (120 ECTS) taught in English, which offers the opportunity to study in a vibrant and stimulating international environment in the city of Rome.
The programme’s interdisciplinary character is conceived to help students understand today’s complex global issues through the development of their analytic and critical skills.
MAIS benefits from the expertise of an academic staff trained in Italy and abroad, ready to share their research interests and keen on encouraging their students to profit from their international experience and professional networks.
MAIS at a Glance
Students are expected to acquire a solid knowledge and insight in a variety of fields related to the ongoing globalization process: International Relations, International Economics, International Law, History, and Political Theory.
Topics such as War, Peace, Gender, and Economic Inequalities, Fundamental Rights, Migration, Ethnic Conflict and Resolution, and challenging issues such as Global Security, Environmental and Economic Sustainability, and Human Rights constitute the programme’s core. The programme also offers the opportunity to acquire and refine linguistic skills in a variety of languages: French; German; Spanish; Arabic; Chinese.
The MAIS programme is designed to direct students towards a career in diplomacy, international organizations, conflict resolution, cooperation and development, international business and consultancy, as well as in inter-disciplinary academic research.
