Introduction
Earn Your MS-LOD at Lakeland University
The Lakeland University Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development (MS-LOD) degree courses are tailored to fit the schedules of both working professionals as well as traditional students, so students can complete their degree at a pace that fits their careers and personal schedules.
This program is ideal for non-profits, law enforcement, human resources, and any other professionals who want to hone their leadership skills. This program focuses on leadership skills and organizational development practices in the workplace; whereas the more traditional MBA focuses on accounting, finance, statistics, and economics. Students can, however, be able to take elective courses in those areas or pursue a concentration area if they choose.
Designed to Meet Your Needs
Lakeland’s MS-LOD program invites students to design their own concentration. This approach allows Lakeland students to pursue subjects or projects that fit their current or future career path, and it’s unique to Lakeland.
By combining current MS-LOD elective courses and special studies opportunities, leveraging current work or training opportunities or even pursuing courses offered elsewhere, Lakeland students work with faculty to create coursework that matches their unique needs.
Admissions
Scholarships and Funding
At the present time, the only types of financial aid awarded by Lakeland University for graduate students include the Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan and the Graduate PLUS loan. Students are encouraged to seek outside scholarships or employee reimbursement to help them meet their educational costs.
Below are loan options for students and/or parents. To be eligible for any of the federal student loans, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). After the FAFSA is received, the Financial Aid Office will contact you regarding the types and amounts of financial aid that you qualify for to help fund your Lakeland University education.
Graduate Plus Loan
The Federal Graduate PLUS Loan provides loans to students in graduate school.
Students can apply for instant pre-approval online and complete the Master Promissory Note for the Grad PLUS loan online. If you do not have online access, please contact the financial aid office. Please be aware that credit check/loan approval is only valid for 180 days.
The Financial Aid Office will be notified of the credit decision. If the application is approved, the Financial Aid Office will certify the Grad PLUS loan.
Alternative (Private) Student Loans
Students are recommended to exhaust all federal loan options first. If additional funding is needed, alternative loans are a source of non-federal educational loans available through a variety of national lending institutions. Minimum and maximum amounts to borrow may vary by program, but all require a satisfactory credit history for approval.
Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Student Loans
Undergraduate and graduate students may complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for federal student loans. Undergraduate students may be eligible for both subsidized and unsubsidized loans while graduate students are only eligible for unsubsidized loans. Subsidized loans are based on financial need and the interest does not begin to accrue until after the 6 month grace period ends and repayment begins. Unsubsidized loans are not based on financial need and the interest begins to accrue immediately. Most students who complete the FAFSA are eligible for unsubsidized loans.
