Here's a list of scholarships you can apply for if you'd like to get a Master's in Germany as an international student:
University scholarships
International Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships
- University: University of Guelph.
- Scholarship award: from $18,500 to $21,500 based on the admission average.
- Scholarship requirements: Open to international students entering post-secondary studies for the first time and registering in the first semester of a degree program in the fall semester. Eligibility will be based on the admission offer average calculated by the University of Guelph’s Admission Services.
- Fields or subjects: Open to a wide range of courses and subjects.
University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship
- Scholarship award: $14,000 per year.
- Period: 12 or 24 months.
- Scholarship requirements: Open to international students who have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 (or higher, depending on your department).
- Eligible programs: all programs except MBA, MFin and MSCM.
The University of Winnipeg President’s Scholarship for World Leaders
- Scholarship award: $5,000.
- Scholarship requirements: Applicants must have a minimum 80% admission average or equivalent and must be involved in activities that demonstrate leadership.
- Fields or subjects: Arts, Science, and Environmental Studies.
Ontario Graduate Scholarship
- University: University of Toronto.
- Scholarship award: $5,000 per session.
- Period: two consecutive or three academic sessions.
- Scholarship requirements: You must be registered or intend to register in an eligible program on a full-time basis and have achieved at least A-.
- Fields or subjects: various programs in health sciences, management, engineering and more.
McCall MacBain Scholarship
- University: McGill University.
- Scholarship award: full tuition fees, a living stipend of $2,000 per month during academic terms and a one-time relocation grant.
- Scholarship requirements: You must apply for a full-time master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill University that consists of 45 credits or more and takes place primarily on McGill’s downtown or Macdonald campuses.
- Eligible programs: all programs except graduate certificates, executive master’s programs, and joint degree programs.
Governmental scholarships
Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program
The Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program is a scholarship program designed to strengthen institutional capacities through the training of nationals of 37 developing countries that are members of La Francophonie and beneficiaries of Canada's official development assistance.
- Period: from 6 months to 4 years.
- Scholarship requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the 37 countries that are eligible for Scholarship. The scholarship is intended for particularly deserving and motivated candidates.
Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program
In 2009, the Canadian Government introduced the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program to foster the growth of human capital and nurture the upcoming generation of leaders in the Americas. The program provides students with exchange opportunities for study or research at Canada.
- Scholarship award: from $8,200 to $11,100.
- Period: from four months to six months.
Scholarship requirements: You must be a citizen of an eligible country and be a student enrolled full-time at post-secondary institution.
Major-specific scholarships
The Woman in Finance Scholarship
The Women in Finance Scholarship by FINCAD aims to inspire and assist accomplished women to pursue graduate-level studies in the finance industry.
- Scholarship award: $20,000.
- Scholarship requirements: Open to all female Finance students who are attending a Master’s programme on a full-time basis at an accredited university.
Byron Hanke Fellowship
The Foundation for Community Association Research (FCAR) helps graduate students to implement research projects related to the development, management and governance of common interest communities and their community associations.
- Scholarship award: from $3,000 to $5,000.
- Scholarship requirements: Applicants must be enrolled, at time of application and through the research period, in a graduate level program at an accredited higher education institution.
- Field of study: Social Sciences.
Food Safety Auditing Scholarship
The FMI Foundation is sponsoring scholarships to students currently enrolled in food and agricultural science majors who are genuinely interested in the field of accredited food safety auditing.
- Scholarship award: $3,000.
- Period: one year.
- Scholarship requirements: You must be a full-time student in an accredited college or university and have a minimum GPA of 3.2. Students having completed an internship in a food or agriculture science degree program preferred.
Fields or subjects: food and agricultural science.
Privately funded scholarships
Study a Master's in Europe Scholarship 2024
- Duration: One-off scholarship covering one year of studies
- Scholarship Award: €5,000
- Scholarship Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a European Master's program as an international student.
- The degree program must be studied either within Europe or online from a European institute.
- Fill out the application forms and submit an essay on the assigned topic.
- Read other requirements and eligibility criteria.
Go Global MBA Scholarship
- Duration: One-off scholarship covering one year of studies
- Scholarship Award: €7,000
- Scholarship Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in an MBA program as an international student.
- You should have no more than 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Fill out the application forms and submit an essay on the assigned topic.
- Read other requirements and eligibility criteria.
Nora Cebotarev Memorial Graduate Scholarship at University of Guelph
This award was made possible from an estate gift from Professor Nora Cebotarev to support international female students from developing countries who have demonstrated commitment to social change.
- Scholarship award: $25,000.
- Period: up to six semesters.
- Scholarship requirements: The scholarship is available for international female students from developing countries with high academic achievements.
P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship
The International Peace Scholarship Fund was created in 1949 with the aim of granting scholarships to female international students, enabling them to pursue postgraduate studies in the United States or Canada.
- Scholarship award: up to $12,500.
- Scholarship requirements: The IPS Fund provides financial assistanse to women from outside US and Canada with the expectation that students will return to their home countries to utilize their education to make a positive impact and foster global peace. n order to qualify for her first scholarship, an applicant must have a full year of coursework remaining, be enrolled and in residence for the entire school year.
3M National Student Fellowship
The 3M National Student Fellowship is the first initiative in Canada aimed at fostering a community of forward-thinking student leaders.
- Scholarship award: $2,000 and other benefits.
- Scholarship requirements: You must be a full-time student at a Canadian postsecondary institution
