Introduction

The MSc in Structural Engineering aims to train professionals with advanced knowledge, capable of operating in all areas of structural engineering, including analysis, design, management, and maintenance of civil structures and infrastructures. Structural Engineering is held in English and is one of the two programs on Civil Engineering held at the University of Perugia (the other is partially in Italian).

The program is mainly focused on providing high-level knowledge on the analysis, design, retrofitting, and management of civil constructions. Students acquire specialized knowledge for the design, testing, and management of complex civil structures, including the diagnosis and rehabilitation of existing structures using innovative materials and techniques. The program delves into structural analysis methods with particular attention to computational mechanics, dynamics of structures and earthquake engineering, bridge analysis and management, and foundation engineering.

This program is ideal for those interested in pursuing a career as a structural engineer or design consultant or even proceeding with an academic career.
