Admissions

Graduate Admissions Criteria

Admission is open to all qualified applicants, regardless of undergraduate major. In making admissions decisions, the College of Business Admissions Committee applies a partially compensatory decision process, in which exceptional strength in terms of GPA, work experience, or optional GMAT scores can offset minor deficiencies in another area.

The following criteria are required for admissions consideration, for both full and part-time applicants:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or a foreign equivalent. For the MBA program, this degree can be in any subject. However, applicants applying to the MBA in Accounting or MS in Accounting programs have specific undergraduate course requirements and should submit this form for review
  • A minimum 3.0 grade point average in prior academic work. In exceptional cases, a GPA below 3.0 will be considered for "conditional admission" to the College of Business. Conditionally admitted students must achieve a 3.0 GPA in their first semester to continue in the program
  • Three credits of calculus. Applicants must submit proof of satisfactory completion (grade of "C" or better) of a 3-credit calculus course. An applicant may request a waiver based on an undergraduate major, business experience, and career aspirations
  • English language proficiency. Applicants whose undergraduate education was conducted in a language other than English must submit test scores
  • F1 Visa. Required only for international students who have been accepted into the program.

In addition, admitted students are expected to have access to a PC running Windows and familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Language Proficiency Test Scores (TOEFL, IELTS, and alternatives)

Applicants whose undergraduate education was conducted in a language other than English must also submit one of the following:

  • A TOEFL internet-based score of 80 or above. TOEFL iBT® Home Edition test scores are acceptable.
  • An IELTS test with an overall score of 6.5 or above, with no sub-scores below 6.0

Official scores are required to have an application reviewed for possible admission. Applicants who do not meet the minimum test scores will not be considered.

Scholarships and Funding

The College of Business offers several scholarships each year to current CoB students, each ranging from a few hundred dollars to full tuition.
