University scholarships
Uppsala University Global Scholarship
- University: Uppsala University
- Scholarship award: full cost of tuition fees
- Period: one or two academic years
- Scholarship requirements: Open to citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. The programme must be chosen as first priority. You must meet certain eligibility criteria related to your admission status and academic qualifications.
- Fields or subjects: Arts and Philosophy, Biology, Business and Management, Chemistry, Earth Science, Energy, Engineering, Game Design, History and Archaeology, Language and Literature, Law, Mathematics and Statistics, Medicine and Pharmacy, Peace and Conflict, Physics, Political and Social Sciences, Sustainability, Technology and Data.
KTH Scholarship
- University: KTH Royal Institute of Technology
- Scholarship award: full tuition fee
- Period: one- or two-year master’s program
- Scholarship requirements: To be eligible for the scholarship you must be a fee-paying student, have applied for a master’s programme at KTH as your first priority and paid the application fee.
- Eligible programmes: all programmes except for joint Erasmus+, EIT Digital, EIT InnoEnergy, EIT Urban Mobility and Nordic Five Tech programmes, and the joint programme Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering.
- Fields or subjects: Architecture and the Built Environment; Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health; Engineering Sciences; Industrial Engineering and Management.
KI Global Master’s Scholarship
- University: Karolinska Institute
- Scholarship award: full tuition fee
- Period: one- or two-year master’s program
- Scholarship requirements: To be eligible for the scholarship you must be a tuition fee-paying student (from outside the EU/EEA) and have applied for a master’s programme at KI and paid the application fee. You also must fulfil the requirements for the programme you have applied for.
- Programs: Health Informatics; Biointerpreneurship; Biomedicine; Global Health; Health Economics, Policy and Management; Molecular Techniques in Life Science; Nutrition Science; Public Health Sciences; Toxicology; Translational Physiology and Pharmacology; Biostatistics and Data Science.
Lund University Global Scholarship
- University: Lund University
- Scholarship award: partial or up to the full tuition fee
- Period: one- or two-year master’s program
- Scholarship requirements: You must be a citizen of a country from outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) and have made a complete application in a regular application round to master's studies at Lund University as your first choice.
- Fields or subjects: Architecture and design; Area studies; Business, economics and management; Engineering and technology; Environment and sustainability; Fine and performing arts; Humanities and languages; Law; Medicine and Health; Science; Service Management; Social sciences
Dalarna University Scholarship for Master’s Students
- University: Dalarna University
- Scholarship award: partial tuition fee (between 10% and 50%)
- Period: one- or two-year master’s program
- Scholarship requirements: Open to fee-paying students only, applicants who list Dalarna University as their first choice are prioritized.
- Programs: Business Intelligence; Data Science; Business Studies with an International Focus; Applied Linguistics; Democracy, Citizenship and Change; Energy Efficient Built Environment; Solar Energy Engineering; Intercultural Literature Studies; Economics; English; Global Sexual and Reproductive Health; Tourism Destination Development.
The IPOET (International Program Office for Education and Training) Scholarship at Chalmers University of Technology
- Scholarship award: 75% of tuition fees (may be increased to 85%)
- Period: two academic years
- Scholarship requirements: The scholarship is available to fee-paying students from non-EU/EEA countries for Swedish university studies
- Fields of study: all of the current Master’s Programs at Chalmers.
Scholarships funded by governmental bodies and external organizations
Swedish Insitute Scholarship for Global Professionals
- Scholarship award: full tuition fee, SEK 12,000 to cover your living expenses, insurance, travel grant SEK 10,000-15,000.
- Period: one- or two-year master’s studies.
- Scholarship requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the 41 countries that are eligible for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals, be liable to pay tuition fees, and have work and leadership experience.
- Programs: Over 750 English-taught master's programmes in the fields of humanities, agricultural science, medicine and public health, natural science, social science, and technology.
Major-specific scholarships
Peace Fellowship for Master's Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University
Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and development professionals to become effective catalysts for peace.
- Period: 15 to 24 months.
- Scholarship award: full tuition fees and living expenses (the amount is not specified).
- Scholarship requirements: You must have at least three years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work and meet certain eligibility criteria related to your academic qualifications.
The IKEA and Södra Scholarship at Linnaeus University through The Bridge
The Bridge is a unique long-term and strategic investment in research and education with a focus on forestry, innovation and sustainability through a partnership between Linnaeus University, Södra and IKEA.
- Programs: Innovation through Business, Engineering and Design or Forestry for Green Sustainable Development.
- Scholarship award: 100% of the tuition fee for the programme and living costs (9,450 SEK/month)
- Scholarship requirements: The scholarship is open for all students, both within and outside of EU/EEA, to apply for.
Scholarship from the Wallenberg Center for Quantum Technology at KTH
The Wallenberg Center for Quantum Technology, with extra support from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, offers the EDU-WACQT scholarship in Quantum Technology.
- Program: Engineering Physics.
- Period: two academic years.
- Scholarship award: full tuition fees.
- Scholarship requirements: You must be a fee-paying student and meet certain programme criteria. The scholarship is awarded primarily on the basis of academic excellence.
The EDU-WACQT scholarship for the Master's in Photonics at Lund University
- Program: Photonics or Nanoscience at the Faculty of Engineering.
- Period: two academic years.
- Scholarship award: SEK 161,500 per year (95% of the tuition fee).
- Scholarship requirements: This scholarship is available for non-EU/EEA students. You are required to follow the curriculum of the Master’s Programme they are admitted to. The selection of the scholarship recipients will be based on the applicant’s academic grades and a personal motivation letter.
Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship at Lund University
The scholarship was established by IKEA Foundation in 2001 and is aimed at students with difficulties affording the living costs in Sweden.
- Program: Industrial Design.
- Period: two academic years.
- Scholarship award: SEK 114,000 per year.
- Scholarship requirements: This scholarship is only open to non-EU/EEA citizens admitted to the programme. The selection of scholarship recipients is based on a personal motivation statement.
Privately funded scholarships
Study a Master's in Europe Scholarship 2024
- Duration: One-off scholarship covering one year of studies
- Scholarship Award: €5,000
- Scholarship Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a European Master's program as an international student.
- The degree program must be studied either within Europe or online from a European institute.
- Fill out the application forms and submit an essay on the assigned topic.
- Read other requirements and eligibility criteria.
Go Global MBA Scholarship
- Duration: One-off scholarship covering one year of studies
- Scholarship Award: €7,000
- Scholarship Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in an MBA program as an international student.
- You should have no more than 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Fill out the application forms and submit an essay on the assigned topic.
